Let’s Talk Peels: What They Do and Why They Matter

Updated: 2 days ago

If you’re already seeing the benefits of laser — or if you’re just starting to explore skin treatments — you might be surprised by how much a chemical peel can do for your skin. At Luminous You, we customize every peel to your skin’s needs, whether you’re maintaining post-laser results or just beginning your glow-up journey.

Not Just an Either-Or

Chemical peels and laser treatments are often thought of as separate solutions — but in reality, they’re even more powerful together. Laser works deep in the dermis to stimulate collagen, break up pigmentation, and tighten skin. Peels, on the other hand, work on the surface to clear dead skin, smooth texture, brighten tone, and enhance product absorption.

Did You Know? Chemical peels can actually extend the results of laser treatments by keeping skin clear, responsive, and optimally absorbing your skincare products.

Best of Both Worlds

Many of our clients see the best outcomes when they combine laser and peels strategically — spacing treatments apart to give the skin time to recover and regenerate while staying on a cycle of consistent renewal. Think of peels as the supportive maintenance that keeps your investment in laser working its hardest.

Don’t Get Laser? Peels Stand Powerfully on Their Own

Not ready for laser? No problem. Peels are an accessible, effective, and lower-downtime way to:

  • Boost your skin’s radiance before an event

  • Manage breakouts or rough texture

  • Fade dark spots and discoloration

  • Start or enhance your anti-aging routine

Whether you’re in your 20s or your 60s, chemical peels can be tailored to help your skin look refreshed, healthy, and glowing.

Our Signature Peels at Luminous You

We’ve carefully selected medical-grade peels that can fit into nearly any skincare plan — whether you’re a seasoned laser client or new to professional treatments:

Lactic 50 Peel

Hydrating, gentle exfoliation for dull, dry, or sensitive skin. Perfect between laser treatments or as a soft reset for first-time clients.

Salicylic 25 Peel

A deep-cleaning powerhouse for acne-prone or congested skin. This peel clears pores and reduces inflammation without the downtime of stronger treatments.

13% TCA Peel

A medium-depth peel that improves tone, refines texture, and targets sun damage or stubborn pigmentation. Often recommended for clients already familiar with laser who want to push their results further.

Vitamin C Peel

An antioxidant-rich treatment that gives skin a bright, healthy glow and helps combat environmental damage. It’s gentle enough for sensitive skin and works beautifully between deeper treatments.

Customized Plans for Your Skin

At Luminous You, we don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. During your consultation, we’ll consider your full treatment history, skin sensitivity, and goals to create a personalized plan that combines laser and chemical peels in a safe, effective rhythm.

If you’re unsure how peels could fit into your current routine, ask Lily during your next visit. I’d love to explain the why — and show you the glow.
